The unnatural nature of submitting work for publication . . .
The Orange County Nature Writing web site is accepting submissions of poetry and prose for publication consideration. Please send your work (up the three poems or 3,000 words of prose—fiction or nonfiction) to ocnaturewriting@sbcglobal.net . Copy and paste your work into the body of your email. No attachments. Make sure your name and email appear on each page of your manuscript. Sorry, but time constraints do not allow for individual comments on your work.
If you send emails with attachments, your submission will be discarded—if you are concerned about your line breaks, please denote them with a slash (/).
The Orange County Nature Writing web site acquires one time North American rights (reprints OK) upon publication, as well as the right to archive your work online.
If you have not heard back in three months, you may send a query email (with the word “query” as the subject line); please state the date of your original submission.
The only payment we can offer is the opportunity to promote your accepted literary work on this website.
